Assessment methodology
A transparent view of how we move from billing access to a ranked remediation plan — the custom companion to our flagship Cost & Efficiency Assessment.
Designed for application owners
Service-line invoices alone do not tell a product team what to change. Our methodology regroups spend under application identities first, then overlays utilisation and ownership so efficiency claims stay tied to real workloads.
Each stage produces an artefact your stakeholders can review: an inventory map, a spend table, a confidence-labelled findings list, and a final report with effort bands.
- Discovery & access. Confirm applications, accounts, and read-only billing paths. Name a technical contact and a finance contact.
- Collection window. Pull at least sixty days of billing history, tag inventories, and utilisation samples agreed in discovery.
- Application regrouping. Re-cut charges by application and environment; isolate unassigned spend as its own bucket.
- Efficiency scoring. Compare utilisation patterns against workload shape; mark confidence for each idle or oversize finding.
- Stakeholder walkthrough. Present draft findings, capture corrections, and adjust rankings before the final pack.
- Delivery. Issue the written report and remediation plan with effort estimates. Optional advisory retainer can begin afterward.
What we need from you
Read-only billing exports, a current application ownership list, and permission to interview owners of the top cost centres. Without ownership names, attribution stalls even when the numbers are clean.
